Boricha Center of H.O.P.E.

H.O.P.E. is an acronym that stands for Helping Orphans Prosper through Education. Too many Ethiopian children do not go to school. An education is a luxury that is simply out of reach. The lack of a quality education creates an ongoing cycle of poverty. FOVC believes that the best way to break the cycle of poverty for future generations is to provide children with a quality education now.

In the fall of 2016 FOVC received a generous grant that allowed us to launch the Boricha Center of H.O.P.E., located in the village of Boricha. 150 children are participating in this program. The grant allowed us to hire a program manager, social worker, and two cooks. The children are receiving daily meals along with school supplies, school uniforms, school fees, hygiene care materials, and medical care through this program.

We plan to formally launch the Boricha H.O.P.E. Sponsorship Program in 2017 which will allow us to continue the program.

Our U.S.-based partner, Partners With Ethiopia, is managing the H.O.P.E. Child Sponsorship Program. To learn more about our U.S.-based partner, go to www.partnerswithethiopia.org.
